One more game. One more line.
Luft is a Chrome extension that caps how many games you play on chess.com each day, then turns the games you already played into opening study. Your streak grows when you study. Never when you play.

Set your limits
Pick how many bullet, blitz and rapid games you want a day, and how many daily moves. Home shows today's count next to each one.
Blitz 3 · Rapid 2 · Daily 10 moves - 2
Play like you normally do
Luft counts finished games on its own. When a format is used up, its play buttons dim and a short note suggests a line to study instead.
The rest of chess.com works as usual - 3
Study what your games show
Luft reviews your recent games to the first slip in the opening and builds a course of lines around it. Learn a line, then practice it until it's solid.

Set it while you're calm.
Choose a number for each format. Bullet, blitz and rapid count games. Daily counts the moves you make, since one daily game can run for weeks.
Hit the number and Luft steps in gently. The play buttons for that format dim, and you get a short note with a line to study. You can still watch, browse and analyze.
Changes to a limit start the next day. Lower it or raise it whenever you like, but a bad run at 1 a.m. can't talk you into more games tonight.
Your games are the course.
Luft reads your recent games, finds the openings where things go wrong early, and builds courses of lines from positions you actually reach. The best move gets taught. Your usual move gets shown next to it, so you know what you're replacing.

Old habit, new move
In a real game, you play the better move you studied where you used to play your old one. Luft spots it on its own when it reads your games.
Points for studying. Zero for playing.
Most chess apps reward one more game. Luft's streak only counts days you studied: learned a line, practiced one, or reviewed a game. Playing never earns anything.
Miss one day and a freeze covers it. You earn a freeze for every 7 days in a row, and hold up to 2.

It reads what's already public.
Your games
Luft reads your games from chess.com's public data, the same games anyone can see on your profile. It never asks for your chess.com password.
Your study
Limits, lines learned, streaks and points live in your browser. The engine runs on your computer too, so your games aren't sent anywhere to be analyzed.
The account
Your email and your chess.com username, plus a count of this week's game reviews. Export it or delete it in one click.
Questions.
Does Luft block chess.com?
No. It only dims the play buttons for a format you've used up today. Everything else on chess.com works as usual. If every format is used up and you open a new game anyway, Luft sends you back to the home page.
Why can't I raise my limit right now?
Because that's exactly when you'd want to. Any change you make starts tomorrow, so the limit you picked with a clear head is the one that counts today.
How does it know what I played?
It checks your public game archive on chess.com, and it watches the game page so a finished game counts right away. For daily chess it counts the moves you make.
Do I need to be good at chess?
No. Courses start from the positions in your own games, whatever your rating. The coach tells you the move to play and why it beats your usual one, one line at a time.
What happens after the free trial?
Pro continues at the monthly or yearly price you picked. Cancel before the 7 days are up and you won't be charged. Either way the limiter, your streak and your main lines stay.
Is Luft made by Chess.com?
No. Luft is an independent extension that works with your chess.com account. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Chess.com.
